J20N Dry Air Gas-Insulated Switchgear
The JST Power Equipment J20N is a 38 kV SF6-free dry air gas-insulated switchgear for utility distribution substations and renewables interconnection, sold and supported in Texas and Oklahoma and on data center projects nationwide by Ryan Sales.
- 38 kV
- 1200 A
- 31.5 kA
- BIL 170 kV phase-to-phase and phase-to-ground
- SF6-free dry air insulation
Overview
The J20N extends JST's dry air GIS platform to 38 kV, 1200 A, 31.5 kA with 170 kV BIL, with a 69 kV class in development. By replacing SF6 with natural dry air it eliminates greenhouse-gas handling and reporting burdens while keeping the sealed-tank reliability of GIS. UL listed, built to ANSI/IEEE/NEMA standards with internal arc classification, and serviced entirely from the front panel.

Frequently asked questions
Who sells the JST Power Equipment J20N Dry Air Gas-Insulated Switchgear in Texas?
Ryan Sales, a manufacturers' representative based in Magnolia, Texas, sells the JST Power Equipment J20N Dry Air Gas-Insulated Switchgear and supports customers across Texas and Oklahoma and on data center projects nationwide through regional reps. Call (281) 363-1106 or request a quote on this page.
How does the JST J20N differ from the J10N dry air GIS?
The J20N extends the same SF6-free dry air platform from 5 kV to 38 kV. It is rated 38 kV, 1200 A and 31.5 kA with 170 kV BIL, compared with the J10N's 5 kV, 600 A, 20 kA and 75 kV BIL. A 69 kV version of the J20N is planned.
What are the benefits of the J20N's SF6-free dry air insulation?
By replacing SF6 with natural dry air, the J20N eliminates greenhouse-gas handling and reporting burdens while keeping the sealed-tank reliability of gas-insulated switchgear. It saves up to 75% of space versus air-insulated gear, is serviced entirely from the front panel, and is UL listed with IEC and IEEE internal arc classification.
